Pause Fest has been Australia's largest innovation conference since 2011 — with 50/50 speaker gender diversity, an industry epicentre feel, and an event that helps launch startups and prides itself on content you can't find on Google.
This particular Pause Fest was the biggest to date: 270 speakers across 7 stages spanning Federation Square and ACMI, delegate hub social areas, activations throughout, and a large exhibition pavilion with over 40 platinum sponsors activating their own spaces to make up the tech garden in the foreground of Federation Square.

Phoenix were engaged and honoured to deliver this beast that is Pause Fest — owning logistics and executing the 3-day event end-to-end on their behalf.
Our scope included front of house and registration, staff, stage managers, 100 volunteers, styling concept design and execution, sub-contractor documentation, all exhibitor and activation booth pre-production, on-site delivery, food and beverage, on-site signage, plus full bump-in and bump-out management.
Five thousand delegates. Two hundred and seventy speakers from across the globe. Every session at capacity. A tech garden that became one of the most photographed spaces at the event. Record attendance across all three days — and a seamless experience that matched the ambition of the program itself.
Phoenix managed the full operational scope: front of house and registration, stage management across all seven stages, coordination of 100 volunteers, styling concept design and execution, all exhibitor and activation booth pre-production and on-site delivery, food and beverage, on-site signage, and full bump-in and bump-out management.
The tech garden was designed as an immersive exhibition precinct in the foreground of Federation Square, giving brands like IBM and Adobe the space and freedom to bring their own activations to life within a cohesive, curated environment.
One standout moment was the Powered by IBM activation, where attendees could charge their devices by riding stationary bikes — competing against each other in real time. It was the kind of interactive experience that stopped people mid-stride and drew a crowd.
Set design across all seven stages created distinct atmospheres for each program stream, giving delegates a reason to move through the full venue and discover something new at every turn.
