All contractor agreements outline clear diversity and inclusion expectations. We also work with clients to embed D&I objectives into supplier selection, programming and talent curation.

For each new account, we take a practical and tailored approach to supporting those experiencing social or economic disadvantage.

We assess barriers within the project’s target community and design responses aligned to real needs and lived experience.

Employment Pathways

Where appropriate, we create access to paid roles, internships, and supplier opportunities - including engaging social enterprises and local talent within event delivery.

Skills & Experience

We partner with universities and government bodies to provide volunteer and paid work experience that builds capability and improves employability.

We work with The Client to define objectives upfront and report on outcomes post-event, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement.

Environmental, Social and Governance

Phoenix is committed to strong environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices that align with Australian Government sustainability priorities. We focus on creating positive community impact while minimising our environmental footprint.

SOCIAL PROCUREMENT & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

We actively support social procurement by partnering with local community organisations, social enterprises and First Nations businesses. Key partnerships include Children’s Ground, supporting Indigenous children through education, health and employment initiatives, and Livin, promoting mental health awareness and education in schools nationwide.

SOCIAL BENEFIT SUPPLIERS

We prioritise suppliers that deliver measurable social impact, including those that support disadvantaged groups, local communities, diversity and inclusion. Our work with Storyfest, a literacy foundation, reflects this commitment by supporting community literacy and storytelling programs.

SUPPLIER COLLABORATION & BROADER OUTCOMES

We also work with mainstream suppliers to encourage sustainable practices, ethical sourcing, and community-focused initiatives - helping drive wider social and environmental outcomes across our supply chain.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENT

We implement practical sustainability measures including waste reduction, energy efficiency, eco-friendly materials, and carbon offset initiatives. We also engage with environmentally sustainable organisations and support local sustainable business capacity building, particularly in Melbourne.

PROVEN TRACK RECORD

Our ESG initiatives include supporting employment pathways through social enterprises, transitioning events to renewable energy, and sourcing sustainable event materials such as biodegradable signage and compostable packaging.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Sustainable event delivery is constantly evolving. We regularly review best practice and collaborate with clients to identify new opportunities for innovation and improvement, learning from past event outcomes to deliver stronger sustainability results over time.

REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS

To reduce carbon emissions in line with the service specification, we embed sustainability across all stages of contract delivery. This includes prioritising sustainable procurement by selecting eco-friendly materials and suppliers with low-carbon practices, as well as improving energy efficiency through smarter equipment, lighting, and operational processes.

STIMULATING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

To support a circular economy, we focus on reducing waste, maximising reuse, and improving resource efficiency across event planning and delivery. This includes minimising material use through digital alternatives, reducing single-use products, and increasing recycling and composting practices onsite.
